Testing a Lifehack: DIY Butter

In this video, I build up my arm muscles and make homemade butter! It’s surprisingly easy.

To make the butter, I used 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, a 1 pint jar, and 5 minutes of shaking. After a little more research, I found out that the purpose of the bowl of water was just to rinse the buttermilk from the butter so that it doesn’t go bad as quickly. If you prefer salted butter, you can add salt after rinsing the finished butter, or you can add herbs or press it into a mold. It will store in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.

Testing a Gadget: The My Pint Ice Cream Maker from Dash

You scream! I scream! Ok, now let’s use our inside voices or we’re not going to get any ice cream!

In this video, I test out a pint sized ice cream maker from Dash.

Here’s the recipe I tried:

Coffee Sorbet
3 Tablespoons honey
2 Tablespoons cocoa powder
1/4 Teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup coffee (or 1/2 cup of water and 1 heaping tablespoon of instant coffee)
1/2 Teaspoon coffee liqueur (I used Kahlua)

Testing a gadget: The Watermelon Tap

In this video, I test out the Watermelon Tap from Profreshionals

I learned three things while making (and after making) this video:
1) Always open the soda bottle in advance.
2) Logically, I know that watermelon juice is sticky, but if you spill it all over your kitchen, it will make everything sticky and pink.
3) This beverage is better with gin.

Enjoy!
